This is a community based dance project in Dunedin connected with the Caroline Plummer fellowship at Otago University. It is a performance project aimed to explore the unique perceptions and memories of people with visual impairments.
I've worked in mixed ability, contemporary dance for over 10 years as a dancer and a choreographer. I recently completed a Masters in Creative and Performing Arts at Auckland University focusing on the creative potential of extraordinary bodies- by that I mean bodies that in some way don't meet the mainstream norm. This project came about through asking the question of how my dance choreography could be more accessible to friends with visual impairments.
